The history of the paper mill in Duszniki-Zdrój dates back to the half of the 16th century. It is one of the most splendid relics of the industrial timbered architecture in Poland.
-
There is the Museum of Papermaking where we are making attempts to conserve the object for the future generations and to seize its potential.
-
We can achieve these aims owing to the 10-million investment programme financed by Norway and EOG Grants and national funds.
-
Thanks to the grants, we will be able to finish the renovation and adaptation of the former paper drying house. There will be two new permanent exhibitions and modern rooms for extremaly popular museum lessons and workshops.
-
The mill complex will be also equipped in an advanced fire protection system guarding not only the wonderful object but also the valuable collections.
-
The part of these collections will undergo the preservation and digitisation process. On the one hand, it will make the originals prevail, on the other – it will perpetuate them in form of the digital pictures.
-
The project implementation will also contribute to the wider prevelence of the knowledge about both the paper mill and the Museum of Papermaking and consequently about paper and its key role in the civilisation and culture development.
-
The project tasks will be finished in 2016. We invite you to stay up-to-date with the progress in their realisation.
