this prestigious title is awarded to the most valuable for the national culture monuments and it is awarded after long, thorough procedure which aims to determine the significance of the object. Entering the list of the Historical Monuments is one of the four forms of monument protection in Poland.
The paper mill in Duszniki-Zdrój was recognised as the historic landmark pursuant to the Presidential Decree of 20 September 2011. The value of the paper mill in Duszniki-Zdrój was determined by its worldwide uniqueness. The National Heritage Institute experts appreciated the paper mill degree of conservation. Their attention was captured by the active work of the institution which is full of life by organising numerous cultural projects and conducting classes promoting old papermaking technique.
Taking care of the paper mill in Duszniki-Zdój – the historic landmark, the Museum of Papermaking has made efforts to enter the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is a long and demanding procedure, however we believe that it will be successfully completed.
