The Consul General of The Federal Republic of Germany visits The Museum of Papermaking

08.03.2012

On 8th March, the Museum of Papermaking hosted Dr Gottfried Zeitz, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Wrocław, together with Rainer Sachs, Cultural Proxy for the German Consulate. During their meeting with the museum’s director, Maciej Szymczyk, the discussion touched upon the collaboration between the Duszniki institution and the Consulate, which has so far proved to be a highly fruitful one. The Consulate staff have participated in the museum’s educational ventures for a number of years now, whilst the Consul General been the honorary patron of several exhibitions presented at the paper mill. The fact that the historical mill has the potential of playing a significant role in expanding the contact between Poland and Germany was also noted. After visiting the museum’s exhibitions, the guests tried their hand at papermaking, something which turned out to be of great interest to the diplomats and thus served to demonstrate that paper continues to play an important role in international relations to this day.
