Memorandum of Understanding
Bożena Żelazowska, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and Martin Baxa, Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, a multilateral agreement on cooperation in preparing a nomination application for the inscription of European paper mills on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The agreement was signed at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, July 31, 2024. The document will soon be forwarded to the other three signatories of the proposal – Spain, Germany and Italy – for signature.
Our joint project is now entering a new phase of work, which will result in the preparation of nominations for preliminary evaluation. We have a tremendous amount of work ahead of us, but we are convinced of the great value of our work not only for the countries where the paper mills included in the project are located, but also for Europe as a whole.
