The achievements
Wide range of activities, organisational advancement, dynamic and professionalism of its Staff are proved by the Museum achievements both in the historic paper mill protection and in the culture and education area.
Recent years have resulted in particulartly prestigous achievements. First and foremost, pursuant to the Presidential Decree of 20 September 2011, the paper mill in Duszniki-Zdrój was recognized as a historical landmark.
In 2013, the Museum of Papermaking entered the National Register of Museums kept by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, which includes the institutions most significant for the national culture. According to the president of the Qualification Commission, profesor Andrzej Rottemund, the unique character of the Museum profile, its unusual building, high level of the institution management, the scientific research and educational programmes places our institution among the most important for the Polish national heritage.
In the year of entering, in the National Register of Museums, there were only 118 institutions and only 7 from the Lower Silesia Region.
Entry in the Register of Museums
Over the last several years, the list of successes was getting longer and longer. In the prestigious competition organised by the Ministry of Culture Museum Event of the Year the Museum in Duszniki-Zdrój won 9 awards and distinctions, including the grand prix in 1998. In 2004, the Museum was qualified to the finals of the European Museum of the Year Competition. In 2009, the Polish Tourist Organization has chosen the Museum as one of the best Polish tourist products.
The best evidence of recognition for the Museum of Papermaking in the international cooperation came when it was appointed as the organizer of the international congresses of paper artists (IAPMA) in 2001 and International Association of Paper Historians (IPH) in 2004 – the events which were held in the Central and Eastern European Country for the first time. In 2011, the Museum was the main organizer of Lower Silesian inauguration of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the Europe.
