We are happy to inform that on 15 September 2025 the Request Format for Preliminary Assessment of a Potential nominated Property concerning the European paper mills from the era of hand-made paper was submitted in the UNESCO World Heritage Centre in Paris.<\/strong><\/p>\n Thereby, we made the second step of utmost importance, bringing us closer to our goal, namely the inscription of our paper mills on the UNESCO World Heritage List. We are obliged to wait for approximately one year for the assessment now. As soon as we obtain it, we will proceed to the next step: the preparation of the nomination itself.\u00a0<\/p>\n Apart from the Museum of Papermaking, the preparation of the Preliminary Assessment involved prof. Bogus\u0142aw Szmygin and the Ladies from the UNESCO Focal Points of all the respective countries. During the last few weeks all the pieces of information on the paper mills – accompanied by maps and photographs – have been gathered in Duszniki-Zdr\u00f3j, in order to be included in the application by Emilia Dziewiecka PhD, who was working out the final version of the Preliminary Assessment in cooperation with the mentioned persons. Thus, we had an opportunity to cooperate intensely within a large, international team and we rate this cooperation positively.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Five paper mills from four countries are involved in the project:<\/p>\n Duszniki-Zdr\u00f3j \u2013 Poland,<\/p>\n Velke Losiny \u2013 Czechia,<\/p>\n Homburg \u2013 Germany,<\/p>\n Capellades \u2013 Spain,<\/p>\n Niederzw\u00f6nitz \u2013 Germany.<\/p>\n
